Happy Birthday Mum!

There is so much I could say about my mum, she is truly wonderful. She is full of love for the Lord and everyone around her, has a quiet strength that is rooted in her faith, and a joy that overflows into all that she does. She is always creating something wonderful, whether it be her delicious muffins or cool decorations to hang in the window, she even made all our clothes when we were little. I couldn't have asked for a better mum and friend! I praise God for you so much, you have been a beautiful example to me. I love you heaps mum, and if I was there with you today I would give you a great big kiss. Happy Birthday! xoxoxoxo....

Ier & Mer

As we drove down to Atlanta last week our little G20 lost her engine, she completly broke down on us. We were thankful though as we did make it all the way down to Atlanta safely. Since we were busy the whole week we really didn't have time to take care of the car, but did manage to talk to Jon and ask if he would come and save us. He graciously said yes and made the 8 hour drive with Tristan the following saturday. Jon brought Tristan along making that long drive alot less of a chore and much more of an adventure, I think they actually enjoy it! Either way, Matthew and I were and are so thankful for their help: to come and save the day. We praise God for you guys! So here's to many more adventures of Ier & Mer!

Approved.

Matthew and I were recently approved by Mission to the World to be missionaries to Japan! We spent a week down in Atlanta with the greatist bunch of people, both the staff and all the other candidates, we loved you all. One of my favorite things was hearing about how God had called each person, couple, and family to the mission field. It was so exciting. I also loved working with the Refugees from somalia, they were so full of laughter. We spent the week in Clarkston Atlanta, the most multicultral square mile in all of America! Since being back, I have found myself missing my team mates. (I'm looking forward so much to seeing you all on area retreats.) And even though some of the week was stressful, i.e. the staff watching you 24/7... it was such a wonderful time. Matthew and I learnt so much about ourselves and how we work together, we saw different weaknesses and strengths, our dependance upon God was definitely strengthened. Most of all we are so excited to be heading to Japan, to see how God will use us! It is such a joy to have a green light.

Fellowship & Brunch.

A perfect combination! One of our favorite things is to get together with friends on a saturday or sunday morning to have brunch. Last saturday we had the special honor of joining Sara and Eric at their place for some french toast, yogurt parfaits, and scrambled eggs. Delicious! It was a wonderful time to talk about different things that are comming up in our lives. To remember how faithful God has been to us. He is so good. What a blessing not only to have Sara and Eric as friends, but also family. We are looking forward to meeting their newest addition!

Bang!

Last night we went to charlottesville with the lovelist group of friends. Matthew has two friends whose birthdays are really close to his, less than a week each way, so we all went out to celerbrate! We had a great time, talking and laughing over ten dollar appetizers, buying a pipe from a lovely old man, (he re-opened the store especially for us.) and drinking honest tea while eating crepes! The restaurant we went to was called bang! and it was an old house restored, painted in bright colors with an asian theme to it. They only serve appetizers, called "tapas", really yummy. It was such an enjoyable night, and I praise God for such wonderful friends! They are fun, encouraging, and spur us on to Christ. We are truly blessed.

Sleeping lions

My favorite part of the day is that in between stage right before you wake up. You havn't completely woken up yet, but you aren't asleep either. This is when I get some lovely time just to enjoy the company of my wonderful husband, to praise God for all His many blessings. This picture so perfectly dispalys my sense of contentment while I doze in and out of sleep. Hopefully there'll be many more posts of praise to follow this. I would love for this blog to highlight the many blessing in my life, to honor my Lord and Savior by giving thanks. I am really excited about finally having a blog.
